My favorite colors are green and blue, but definitely not yellow! It is not a color I would seek when buying clothing, automobiles, paint or anything actually. It doesn't do anything for me.
In fact, I recently bought two yellow shirts on an impulse...mainly because they were on sale actually...50% off! I thought I might like them...NOT. Therefore, I offered both of them to my brother when he visited me this summer. He only took the one that fit him. Sadly, the other one will sit in my closet until I can find a willing recipient.
So why did I choose the primary color yellow?
The answer is simple. I chose yellow to knock me out of my comfort zone on focusing solely on the colors that I like when taking photographs. The results have been revealing. I am now beginning to see yellow subjects as actually quite striking. I like the way they compliment other colors such as orange, green and blue.
I believe I have accomplished what I set out to do by choosing yellow as my primary color. I hope you see what I mean when you look at my photographs in this post. Who knows, I just may wear that yellow shirt to class someday. :)
The first five photos from the past. The first photograph is from Gettysburg and the next four were taken on Prince Edward Island in 2016. The second five photos were taken recently for this project. The last photo was taken a number of years ago at a rodeo in Wisconsin.
